Formation & Fun Facts

Polychrome Jasper is found exclusively in Madagascar, discovered relatively recently in the early 2000s. It's a variety of chalcedony formed in ancient volcanic flows, with its multicolored banding created by different mineral deposits laid down over millions of years. Each piece is a completely unique geological record — no two are ever the same. Its vivid color palette is caused by iron oxides, silica, and other minerals that were present during its formation.
