Calcite is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth, found in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks worldwide. Green Calcite gets its color from chlorite inclusions or other trace minerals within its calcium carbonate structure. It's found in many locations globally, including Mexico, Brazil, and parts of Europe. Like all Calcite, it's relatively soft (hardness of 3) and should be handled gently. It's also strongly fluorescent under UV light.
