It's one of the most colorful minerals in the world — it can appear in virtually every color of the rainbow, and many specimens are multicolored. Fluorite is also fluorescent under UV light, which is actually where the word "fluorescence" comes from. Major sources include China, Mexico, South Africa, and the United States.
